Welcome to Lydbrook Primary School

Welcome to Lydbrook Primary School and Robins Nursery! This is our website and we are continually working to upload all of the relevant information you may wish to access. If there is anything you can't find, please get in touch and we will try to help.

I am delighted to welcome you to our school website and hope that you find it both useful and informative. Our website has been designed to give you an insight into the life of our school, celebrate the achievements of our pupils, and provide important information for parents, carers, and the wider community.

Lydbrook School is a lovely little school in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Surrounded by stunning countryside and beautiful forests, our school enjoys a unique setting at the centre of the village of Lydbrook. We are proud of our strong connections with the local community and the warm, family atmosphere that makes our school such a special place to learn and grow.

Our school has three mixed-age classes, enabling children of different ages to learn and thrive together. We are fortunate to have a fantastic site with excellent facilities, including two playgrounds, a large and beautiful field, and a wonderful Forest School area that allows children to benefit from outdoor learning experiences throughout the year. Our Early Years Foundation Stage provision includes a spacious classroom with a free-flow learning environment that opens directly into a dedicated outdoor area, providing rich opportunities for exploration, creativity and discovery.

One of our greatest strengths is our people. We have a team of dedicated, caring and highly committed staff who work tirelessly to provide the very best opportunities for every child. We are equally proud of our fantastic children, whose enthusiasm, kindness and determination make Lydbrook School a vibrant and happy place to be.

We work closely with Ellwood Community Primary School which is another local primary school in the forest of Dean. We share knowledge, resources and expertise across both schools and work collaboratively together.

Our school motto, "Together we learn. Together we excel.", underpins everything that we do. It reflects our belief that by working together as pupils, staff, families and the wider community, we can achieve great things and support every child to reach their full potential.

At Lydbrook Primary School, our ethos is shaped by a commitment to show Respect, demonstrate Kindness, have Aspirations and show Responsibility. We also focus on Honesty, Resilience and Friendship. These values guide our vision and every decision we make. They support our aim to nurture confident, compassionate and motivated learners who make a positive contribution to their school and the wider community. We want every child to feel valued, supported and inspired to become the very best version of themselves.

As you explore our website, I hope you gain a sense of the happy, caring and ambitious environment that makes Lydbrook School so special. Whether you are a current parent, a prospective family, or simply interested in finding out more about our school, I hope the information you find here is helpful and gives you a flavour of all that we offer.
